  • How do I prepare my resume to match SOUTHLAND's recommended format?

Like many organizations, SOUTHLAND uses an electronic database to efficiently route resumes. Our recruiters search the database using keywords and phrases that describe the specific skills and knowledge required for a particular opening. It is important, therefore, that you include any relevant terms and acronyms in your resume.

We prefer to receive resumes electronically as they are processed more quickly and accurately. While special formatting may look nice, it can cause errors in getting your resume into the database correctly.  Therefore, it is to your advantage to submit a plain text resume - avoid special formatting, bold type, underlining, and fancy fonts. We suggest 12 point type in Helvetica, Times, or New Century, all left-aligned.

To help you prepare a resume that meets our system requirements, we've provided a sample resume.

Cover letters are welcome, but please do not send theses/dissertations, research papers, references, or lists of publications.

  • How do I send in my resume?

We prefer to receive resumes electronically as they are processed more quickly and accurately. Paper resumes, received by U.S. mail, are scanned into our database. Please choose one of the options below for submitting your resume:

E-mail: Careers@SouthlandRealEstate.com

Copy your resume into the body of the e-mail.

Avoid special formatting, bold type, underlining, and fancy type faces.  All attachments should be plain ASCII text with a maximum line width of 76 characters (most word processing applications have a "Save as ASCII text" option).

U.S. mail: If you're unable to use one of the electronic options above, you may submit your resume via the postal service.

  • What's next?

We will send you an email  letter within three to four weeks of receiving your resume. l

SOUTHLAND recruiters regularly search our database to locate qualified candidates. If there is an appropriate opportunity that matches your skills, you will be contacted by a staffing representative or the hiring organization. Your resume will be kept on file for six months. It is not necessary to resubmit your resume within the six-month timeframe unless you are responding to a different ad or your resume has changed.

In the meantime, we invite you to check out the following:
